What the data is
These records come directly from state licensing boards: the California CSLB, Florida DBPR, Minnesota DLI, Washington L&I, the Oregon CCB and the Texas TDLR, among others. They are public records. We publish them as they are and do not edit them.
Records are a snapshot and can lag behind the boards. For a legally binding answer, always confirm with the issuing board itself. Absence of a record is not proof that someone is unlicensed — several states do not license general contractors at all.
